Performance
Powering the new Hyundai Sonata is one of three engines: a 2.5-liter inline-4, a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4, and a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4. The Hyundai Sonata SE and SEL come equipped with a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine that that provides 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. Opting for the SEL Plus or the Limited trim ensures more power thanks to a standard 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-4 that provides 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The performance-focused N Line time boasts way more power thanks to a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4, which provides 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. All engines feature front-wheel drive and work with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Standard Equipment
The base Hyundai Sonata SE trim comes outfitted with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and a basic audio system. The interior of the Hyundai Sonata includes cloth-trimmed seats, a 6-way manual driver's seat, and seating for up to five. The Hyundai Sonata also includes a bundle of driver assistance features, including lane-keeping assist, forward-collision alert, and adaptive cruise control.
